The Rallar Road

Take the bike ride along the country's most known bicycle paths. The Rallar Road (Rallarvegen) go from Haugastøl, over mountains and down to the Sognefjord to Flåm, a stretch for a total of 86 km.

Experience the transition between the eastern region and the west - magnificent mountain landscape and Norwegian Fjords.

Car-free: Yes (except the stretch Haugastøl - Storurdi).

Season: Mid-July to end-September (subject to snow-free road conditions).

Duration: 1–3 days recommended.

Bicycle train leaves every day in high season from Geilo. A nice half-day; please take the train to Finse and cycle back to Geilo, 27 km.

The road was built in connection with the construction of the Bergen Railway in 1909 is a cultural monument. Nature is changing, and exciting, from the rugged mountain peaks to the fertile Western Norway.

There are many mountain roads in Geilo that are well-suited for shorter cycling trips as well.
