Biking in Geilo 

Geilo can boast a great variety of bicycling tours. One is the Ustedalsfjorden Tour, a cultural and scenic trail which is popular for the whole family. The Geilo-Prestholtseter tour is also a magicalexperience. Here you may purchase refreshments and a snack.

Several biking routes meet at Geilo and the mountain roads in the local environment are well suited for shorter trips.

Cross-country biking

Slightly more challenging than biking on gravel and cart roads. A number of trails in Geilo are just challenging enough, without being too difficult. For the more adventurous we recommend a trip to Urundberget and then to Tuftelia.

Lift & bike rental

In Geilo you can hire bicycles in all categories. Also, you can rent downhill bikes and cross-country bikes by the summer lift. In addition you can rent bike saddlebag, bike pump, baggage cart and child seat. Helmet is included in the prices.

Rallarvegen

The old construction road along the Bergen railway from Haugastøl to Myrdal and Flåm, and from Upsete to Voss is called Rallarvegen. The road is a total of 123 km long and goes through some of Norway's most remarkable high mountain nature. Rallarvegen is one of the country's most popular cycling stretches, and to bicycle the entire route takes two days.

There is a train that transports bicycles on the Bergen railway. Train departures daily in the period 10.06 - 16.09 from: Geilo 10.15, Haugstøl 10.42, Finse 11.10 and Myrdal 11.41. You must reserve a place for your bicycle in advance. Price: NOK 150.
