Fishing and hunting

Most rivers and lakes in the municipality of Hol have trout stocks. Some also have Arctic char.

The touring maps «Geilo» and «Hallingskarvet» (1:50000) show all 17 fishing areas.

There are adapted fishing spots for wheelchair users along the Ustedalfjord nature and cultural trail.

Those who buy fishing licenses for Skjerja on Hardangervidda (GJF ) can rent a boat and stay in a cabin there (130 per person per night).

There is a joint fishing license for Geilo, Haugastøl and Østre Hol, in addition all the areas have their local fishing license. Fishing licenses may be purchased at the tourist information offices, at tourist lodges in the mountains, in sports shops and from several local sales outlets.
