Birkelund camping is situated in an ancient cultural landscape with long traditions in agriculture and mountain dairy farming. You can still find mountain dairy farms along Fv 50 with large flocks of goat and farms with sale and catering of traditional mountain farm food.
On the camping site it is possible to rent a motorhome (from June 1st until August 20th) for 2 persons. It is a Hymer B544 with a pull down double bed over the drivers cabin.
The motorhome is on a beautiful spot on our camping site and has electricity, a kitchen with a 3 burner gascooking plate, kitchen utensils, dinner-sets, cutlery, a refrigerator, a coffee machine, heating, hot and cold water, a bathroom with a toilet and a fitted wash-hand basin and a wardrobe.
Outside the motorhome is a half open awning with garden furniture.
On the camping site you can rent a lavvo ( from June 15th until August 20th) for 4 persons, a traditional tent in which the Sami used to live. It is a lavvo Varanger (16m2) with a wood-stove and 4 camping beds. The lavvo is on a beautiful spot on our camping site and has electricity, a kitchenette with a double electric cooking plate, kitchen utensils, dinner-sets, cutlery, a small refigerator, a wood-stove and garden furnuture.The beds have pillows so all you need to bring are sleeping bags and pillow cases. The first bag of wood is included.
Birkelund camping can supply 33 caravans. motorhomes or tenst with electricity and has 45 camping places for caravans, motorhomes and tents.
Outside the sanitarybuilding is a chemical tank disposal to empty the lavatory of your motorhome or caravan and there is a pit for emptying the wateroutlet of your motorhome or caravan. Near the kiosk you can fill up your freshwater tank.
Dogs are, provided that they are on a lead, welcome on Birkelund camping
