The tourist village Geilo is well-known as one of Norway's largest ski resorts.

Geilo

About 91 percent of the area lies more than 900 metre above sea level. Approximately 4500 residents have 1889 km2 of mountain and plateau as playground. There are very rarely only 4500 people within the bounds of the municipality, in the most busy tourist season the population is doubled four or five times! We are proud to have two national parks within the boundaries of our municipality; Hardangervidda National Park and Hallingskarvet National Park.

See our summer brochure.

Take a look at our activitybrochure.
