How to get to Geilo

Geilo is centrally located between Oslo and Bergen, in the southern part of Norway. Geilo is easily accesable by eiher car, train (NSB) or bus.

By train to Geilo

You travel comfortably and arrive quickly, it takes about 3 hours from Bergen and about 3.5 hours from Oslo to Geilo. The NSB's train (Bergensbanen) runs through the most beautiful, wild and unspoiled nature in Norway. The train has 5-6 arrivals/departures to/from Geilo daily. By car to Geilo

The shortest route between Oslo and Bergen is Rv 7, and halfway between the to cities is Geilo. Rv 7 over Hardangervidda and along the Hardanger Fjord is a national tourist route. To get to Geilo you can also follow Rv 50 over the mountains from west to east. The road runs through the magnificent nature between Aurland and Hol. From Hol it is about 10 km to Geilo. From Geilo Rv40 goes through Numedal, Kongsberg, Larvik and on to Tønsberg and Sandefjord. Coming from Denmark to Larvik, this is the quickest route to Geilo.
