Geilojordet

Geilojordet is an idyllic yard with ancient buildings from the 1700-1800's.

This is a gem in Geilo center for recreation, experiences and activities. During the summer, there is an outdoor cafe that serves, among the other things, sour cream porridge. in the barn, there are exhibits, and all the buildings are open for visitors. For the children, there is a play area: and the can visit goat kids and chickens.

The summer season 2023 opens on Saturday 24 June at 12:00.
- The Geilojordet cafe is open every day from 11:00 to 16:00, until 13 August.
- Living storytelling theater every day; you get to hear a story from a farm boy or a farm girl about how life was on the Geilo farm in the 1850s. The young people take you into the various buildings and tell you about life and anecdotes.

Geilojordet Bygdemuseum
Geilojordet was originally a hayfield, later a homestead under the farm Geilo. Geilo gard has history all the way back to the Middle Ages! From 1924, Geilojorde was an independent farm before Hol municipality took over Geilojorde with buildings and land in 1984.

Now the Geilojorde consists of 9 buildings from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. In the summer, this is a living oasis in the middle of the city centre. Here you can learn about bygone times, see theater and exhibitions. There is also an outdoor cafe with sales, as well as goats and chickens!
